My first book, God’s EPIC Adventure, is in print!

It has been and interesting process starting a publishing company HarmonPress and publishing my first book, God’s EPIC Adventure through that imprint. It’s an interesting feeling to hold a book in your hand and seeing your name on the front cover. For years I have researched and written lots of material. I was used to writing things like, Sweet says, or McLaren says, or Wright says, but when I saw my name appear in that context in the ForeWord which is written by Len Sweet, Griffin says, it seemed a little strange. Revelation is as much a challenge to the comfortable within their society as it is comfort for those whose commitment has brought them into tension with the host society of this present evil age. It is a challenge and protest as well as comfort and encouragement.

Prophecy “experts” like Jack van Impe, Hal Lindsey, and the recent Left Behind series by Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye with their mode of interpretation which looks at the meaning of Revelation as it applies to international politics and dosmestic policies have, in my opinion, misguided readers of this book for decades.

I will attempt to “decode the visions” of Revelation with a bit more sanity. I hope you will join us for this journey.

For several months now I have been working on an eBook entitled My Heart Stint Story in which I engage the reader in my own journey with having five heart stints. It is now released and available. How long do stents last?

ANSWER
Heart stints/stents are placed in an artery for life. They are not removable. The tissue inside the artery grows around the stint and makes it permanent.

If you are continuing to experience chest pain or discomfort, it may be the result of the stretching of the artery during the angioplasty part of the procedure. However, as with all other chest pain, you should consult your attending cardiologist and let her/him know what you are experiencing. Heart stints often last for up to 12 plus years. But there is no way to know how long a stent will last in a particular situation. Each patient’s body is different as is their life-style.

There is a new technology (see above VCT, p.28) to help determine artery plaque that is completely non-invasive. Check with your cardiologist to see if is available through his practice.

Recently I finished a second Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree from George Fox University. Part of the regor of working through a doctorate is the amount of reading that one does. In this case however, we not only read but intereacted with a group of others on a weekly and sometimes daily basis.

With this in mind I have started a new blog called EPIClicious which will allow anyone who wishes to see books that are great reads in the area of the Emerging Culture and interact with others who may choose to read the same book.

EPIC comes from and acrostic by Len Sweet which stands for: Experiential, Participatory, Image-Rich, and Connectivity, all watch words of the postmodern culture. So why not drop on by and see what you think.

Arguments abound about almost everything. Such is true about heart stints (both kind of stint, wire or drug coated, and stint vs. other kinds of treatment. I just posted an article at my Heart Stint site that I think you might find interesting.
